Ms. Novello is a writer, producer and actress. She recently premiered her Latinx feature Comedy “Sisters” at the LA Latino International Film Festival. She is an activist and a feminist supporting women in body consciousness and healing. She is from Guadalajara, Mexico. Her volunteer work with children who have been separated at the border is invaluable in understanding challenges for Latine children in our school community and topics that are important to them. She has lived in Los Angeles for almost 20 years and has written, directed and acted in theater around the city advocating for mental health, Latine issues and empowerment. Her most recent collaboration was with Josefina Lopez, directing her famous play “Real Women Have Curves”. She is deeply connected in the Hollywood Latine community. Theater is her first love, and she has portrayed beautiful characters like Frida Kahlo, Bertha and Lady ( Tennessee Williams) Simone ( the persecution of Jean Paul Marat) and Marjorie in Extremities. She directed the short documentary “Suenos Rotos” following a soccer player in Mexico ( which aired on national television during the World Cup) She is a former board member for the prestigious Los Angeles County High School of the Arts (LACHSA).
